Last weekend, Susan Boyle was just another unknown face in the shadows living alone with her cat - Today, she's a worldwide sensation, as a clip of her singing on the TV show Britain's Got Talent exploded onto the Youtube scene. Not only did Susan Boyle's amazing voice manage to win over the usually cranky American Idol judge Simon Cowell - She touched the hearts of millions everywhere. Susan Boyle's singing is truly a sound to behold.

New Susan Boyle Video Surfaces

Susan Boyle Singing "The Way We Were" at a pub in 1984

Check it out folks - A new video of Susan Boyle from over 20 years ago has just surfaced on the internet:

Wow! With a voice like hers it's surprising that Susan wasn't discovered earlier.

The video was taken at a local singing competition (it's been reported elsewhere that Susan Boyle didn't win). She was just 22 at the time in the video, just released by Scotland's Daily Record newspaper. Boyle is featured prominently, singing Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were."

"I can consider that she was a shy young girl, but also very attractive back then – she turned a few heads when she came into the casino," a school caretaker named Gerry McGuinness told the Daily Record of Susan Boyle's appearance, a complete decade before she started taking professional singing lessons.

McGuinness said that he was in the audience during the performance and decided to dig up an old video after seeing Boyle on her singing on "Britain's Got Talent", the show which made her an overnight international star. He said he was very happy about the fact that she is now receiving the attention she deserves for her amazing talent. I wholeheartedly agree...

  3. Looking forward to her appearance on Oprah today. Its really great how she hasn't changed with all the media attention. The old girl is still shy, frumpy, and a bad dresser and can still bring the house down! Beautiful voice!
