Last weekend, Susan Boyle was just another unknown face in the shadows living alone with her cat - Today, she's a worldwide sensation, as a clip of her singing on the TV show Britain's Got Talent exploded onto the Youtube scene. Not only did Susan Boyle's amazing voice manage to win over the usually cranky American Idol judge Simon Cowell - She touched the hearts of millions everywhere. Susan Boyle's singing is truly a sound to behold.

Will Susan Boyle Win The Britain's Got Talent Competition?

The 2009 season of Britain's Got Talent has only just begun, but already it looks like Susan Boyle is the clear front-runner in winning the whole thing. Her singing has ignited a global media firestorm via Youtube - People love her for her talents and the scrappy underdog current that she represents. So is it all over before it has even begun? Many think so. Quite frankly, I think it will be extremely unlikely that someone else will come along on the show and touch people in the same way that Susan Boyle did.

In my honest opinion, I think that Susan Boyle is simply going to steamroll her way to winning the Britain's Got Talent competition. Does anyone really think that anyone else will have a chance? The amazing response from the Britain's Got Talent audience, the UK, Youtube, the internet, and later the rest of the world will be incredibly hard to match. Someone would have to be extremely lucky to get the level of Publicity that Susan has gotten. It's likely that Susan Boyle will win the competition on momentum alone.

Why?

Because of the underdog effect. People love a story about the unlikely Cinderella who succeeds against all odds. You need only look back to what happened last year when the lowly Tampa Bay Rays went from worst to first and managed to win the pennant against much bigger, higher paid teams. It creates a feel-good experience that shows us that we can in fact beat the odds and acheive our dreams, and people in general really connect to that. We can all relate to someone like Susan Boyle as she isn't the type of person we usually see on TV and in magazines. She's like us - a normal person, albeit with an extraordinary talent.

Even if Susan Boyle doesn't manage to come out on top of the Britain's Got Talent competition, she will surely be pursued for recording contracts and will likely go on to be incredibly successful for years to come. But it's even more likely that yes, she will in fact win the whole thing.
